Have you found yourself looking at photos of people lifting someone else on their hands/feet and thought “how DO they do that?!”?
Acroyoga is a fun, exciting practice that combines the strength and flexibility of yoga with the grace of partner acrobatics, allowing you to lift your friends up in a dynamic way while building trust and community through child-like play. Whether you’re wanting to learn how to fly for the first time, or if you’ve tried it before but want to brush up on your foundational skills, this introductory workshop is for you. We’ll break down the technical elements of the practice to approach what otherwise may seem impossible, giving you the tools to fly and give flight to almost anyone — sometimes even when your flyer is twice your size! Expect to laugh, meet new people, and surprise yourself with what you can do.
The 110-minute workshop will teach you how to:
- Calibrate with a partner you've never worked with before
- Base anyone with proper bone stacking & weight transfer
- Create a safe environment for play with spotting techniques
Beginner-friendly. No partner needed, but feel free to bring a friend or three!
